Greetings Emerald Coast New Horizon’s Band Members
Just a quick note to bring you up to date with what is happening with the band organization efforts. We have formed a small steering committee to brainstorm suggestions as to the path we would like to see the band move. As always, input from all would be helpful.
When we first met to create our band, we had many options as how we would like to organize and the direction we could move. The primary objective is to keep the practices and any possible events FUN!
We want to see the band grow, with all levels of talent and any age adult can participate. We want to have members that are beginners through advanced and provide the opportunity for us all to learn from each other, practice and to have a place where we can laugh together.
One of the first things we would like to do is to create a Welcome Packet. As we gain new members or as we market ourselves to organizations that could provide potential members, we would like to have a little something as a reminder to leave with them.
We also see ourselves meeting with the Band Parents organizations as school starts up in the fall. Most of these parents are themselves past band members that may wish to participate in ECNHB.
As with any organization, it comes with expenses. At the March 2007 band formation meeting, we agreed that $25.00 a month per member would cover any marketing efforts, purchase of music, and any possible conductor and event fees. As a steering committee, we have agreed that should be sufficient.

As of 04/08....Currently, we meet and practice at 7pm on Tuesdays. Please arrive early, as Playground Music closes at 7PM and the doors will be locked shortly thereafter.
